Oliver has got himself a heart of pure gold; it’s as simple as that. He’s got all the traits you would expect for a lion, brave, a little headstrong and all around good guy. Even though he’s one of the more friendly guys in his year, he still struggles with putting his trust into people, but it’s quite hard for anyone to tell due to the fact he usually has a smile plastered on his face most of the time. For Oliver, music has always been an outlet for him. He feels that it’s the best possible way for him to describe himself. You almost never see him without his guitar and old journal full of scribbled down lyrics. Music is like the air he breathes, so if it’s taken away he’s honestly better off dead.
He comes from a long line of Slytherins, a majority of them being supports of the late dark lord, so his family was quite shocked to find out that their one and only son was sorted into the house that they despise so much. His father had very much considered cutting off all ties with him and close to kicking the boy out, but his more sympathetic mother intervened and did her best to patch everything up. Even now things are still awkward in the Burton household, but Oliver couldn’t care less. It’s taken it’s toll on him for so long and his home problems are probably the reason for his quirky sarcastic moments, he’s had to rough out to deal with things. But he copes in his spare time, after all, music is the only thing that really matters.
